Kingsgrove High School welcomes International Students.
NSW government schools like Kingsgrove High offer international students academic excellence in a safe, tolerant environment.
Experienced university-trained teachers help students to achieve their best results. Qualifications from NSW government high schools are internationally recognised.
Our schools offer:
- Wide range of subjects and activities
- Quality teaching
- Care and support for international students
- Stimulating learning environment
Each year, International students across years 7-12 (from a total of approximately 1045 students) study at the school. The majority of these are in years 10-12 and most come from China. The remainder are from South Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Indonesia, and other Asian countries.
One of the school's strengths is its English as a Second Language support team who assist our international students in the following ways:
- ESL English is available as an HSC subject
- specialist ESL teachers offer individual or small group support from Year 7 to 12
- additional support such as small group tutorials is provided
Our International students are very successful at the Higher School Certificate and many go on to study at the University of their choice or to NSW TAFE after the HSC.
In addition to our academic programs, we organise excursions, including some interstate, to enhance their understanding of Australian culture and society.
