Congratulations to Ismail H (Year 12 student) who participated in this year’s Leukaemia Foundation World's Greatest Shave event, to help support those suffering from Leukemia.
We are proud to announce that through his efforts, Ismail raised $2,518.66. He demonstrated formidable commitment to improving the lives of others through direct action and financial support for further research into blood cancer.
Below is a message from Ismail outlining his involvement and participation in the event
‘Worlds Greatest Shave has always been something I’ve wanted to participate in and following the recent diagnosis of one of the most important people in my life, I seized the opportunity to do my part in helping out the thousands of Leukaemia victims each year. I’ve seen what these diseases do to families and how harmful they tend to be.
I signed up for the organisation and within a week I had raised over $1000 from the generosity of friends, family and the general community. The most daunting part of this was in fact shaving my head bald but the outcome of participating outweighed this anxious feeling. In a matter of a month I was able to raise $2,518.66 and without the help and generosity of everyone this would have never been achieved.
The support from everyone and myself enabled my fundraising to aid families affected by this disease in numerous ways. I hope my efforts and contribution to this cause provide support to all these families affected both financially and emotionally and for researches to one day find a cure for this cruel disease’
