Kingsgrove High School recently held its Future Links Careers Week, culminating in a Careers Expo. This week-long program aimed to encourage students from Years 7-12 to engage in meaningful discussions with various post-school option providers, aiding them in making informed subject choices and setting aspirational goals for their futures.

This year's Careers Week and Expo were proudly supported by the Georges River Council’s Community Grants Program, which was instrumental in making the event possible.

Throughout the week, all year groups participated in career workshops led by Turning Point Consultants. These professional workshops provided students with valuable knowledge, understanding, and awareness for their high school journey and beyond.

The program engaged the entire school community as well as a range of educational providers, apprenticeship companies, and universities. Additionally, students from the Beverly Hills network, including Kingsgrove North and Beverly Hills Girls, were invited to participate and benefit from the expo's opportunities.

Parents of Kingsgrove High School students also had the opportunity to attend a session to engage with providers and better support their children. This initiative provides a foundation for post-HSC planning and pathways for Stage 6 students, as well as supporting the subject selection process for Stage 5 and 6 students.

"At Kingsgrove High School, we believe that careers education is vital. Throughout this week, students from each year group have participated in seminars focused on individual skills, strengths, and future preparation, all delivered by Turning Point Consulting. These sessions are essential for initiating early discussions about career pathways, helping students contextualize their learning, and exploring various career options. Our goal is to connect the skills and attributes students are developing now with their future aspirations. While we may not see the future, our role is to equip students to shape theirs,"
