Some homes in Roselands and Punchbowl that are currently designated to Punchbowl Public School and Sir Joseph Banks High School will be changing to Beverly Hills North Public School and Kingsgrove High School from 14 March 2025.
The changes impact new enrolments. No existing students will be required to change schools.
The changes impact homes located on Bonds Road, Farnham Avenue, Payten Avenue, Draper Avenue, Highland Avenue, Springfield Avenue, Werona Avenue, Patrick Street, Hargraves Avenue, Smee Avenue, Carol Crescent, Daisy Street, Leon Avenue, Pineview Avenue, Eva Street, Leigh Avenue and Leigh Place. The residential properties located on the eastern side of Mount Avenue, Violet Street, and Karne Street North will also be reassigned to Beverly Hills North PS and Kingsgrove High School, to match properties on the western side of these streets.
There are no changes to the local single sex high school intake areas (Beverly Hills Girls High School and Punchbowl Boys High School).
You can view the changes to the intake areas here.
Key Points for Families:
· Year 6 students affected by the change who have already submitted an Expression of Interest (EOI) for Year 7 2026 for Sir Joseph Banks High School will have their preferences honoured. However, students may choose to resubmit or update their preferences to their newly designated local high school, Kingsgrove High School, from 14 March 2025. Students living in the area that is changing have a choice to enrol at either high school until the last day of Term 1, 2025, at which point, Kingsgrove High School becomes the guaranteed co-educational option.
· Siblings of students currently enrolled at their previous local high school and are affected by this change, will still be able to attend the same high school together.
· Current students at these high schools will not be required to change schools.
The updated intake areas can be found on the School Finder website from 14 March 2025: schoolfinder.education.nsw.gov.au.
Families with questions regarding these changes can contact their local school for further information.
