Kingsgrove High school students participated in a World’s Greatest shave fundraising event on Thursday 28 March.
Five students were ‘brave enough to shave’ whilst 40 students chose to have their hair coloured for a worthy cause, donating to the Leukaemia foundation to help find a cure for blood cancer. Other students simply donated to the cause. It was wonderful to see such a willingness to participate and help from the school community, both students and staff.
The event was also greatly assisted by community support, particularly from Eddie’s Salon at Roselands. Eddie Alawieh donated his time and skill, visiting the school to ensure that the volunteers received the best of service.
Thank you to staff and members of the wider community to also donated of their own accord. Their contribution ended up making up the bulk of the donations. The Prefects were our workers and collectors, they did a great job and made the event a lot of fun.
In total, the students raised $300 on the day and additional contributions meant that a total of $ 780 was raised.
