Our Beanies for Brain Cancer fundraiser was organised by the very proactive Thomas N and Ismail H and a hardworking and willing team of Year 11 students who worked tirelessly in the lead up to the event and doubled down on our fundrasing day. Heartfelt thanks to the teachers, students and parents who donated cakes, cookies and other baked goods to sell. The donation of time and effort was greatly appreciated.
The day was a huge success and the multitude of baked goods - basically sugar in multiple disguises - were all snapped up before the end of recess. Our BBQ and drinks special for lunch - light on healthy food choices but big on fundraising efforts was also very popular. Due to the dedicated team of Year 11 students spearheaded by Thomas and Ismail, we will be donating an impressive $2358 to the Mark Hughes Foundation for Brain Cancer, dedicated in memory of our very own Hadi Hammoud, who lost his battle with brain cancer in September, 2017. Always in our hearts Hadi. We are so proud and impressed with the way our students just stepped in and worked together for a greater cause.
