NSW School Vaccination Program 2023

NSW Health works in partnership with schools to offer the vaccines recommended for adolescents by the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) in a school-based vaccination program.

Parent information kits are sent home to parents early in the school year.

All students in Year 10 will be offered: 

• 1 dose of Meningococcal ACWY vaccine Key Points

All students in Year 7 will be offered: 

• 1 booster dose of Diphtheria-Tetanus-Pertussis (dTpa) vaccine 

• a course of Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine

There are new ways to give consent in 2023, information about providing online consent and the NSW School Vaccination Program will be available from December, please visit www.health.nsw.gov.au/immunisation/Pages/schoolvaccination.aspx

Key points

  • Your child's record of vaccination will be uploaded onto the Australian Immunisation Register. Anyone over the age of 14 years is required to access their own statement through myGov or Medicare online. 
  • If your child is absent for any clinics they will be caught up at the next school clinic.
